Our Products

Ngāi Tahu Seafood supplies the highest quality seafood to international and domestic markets, under the TAHU brand. Key species are kōura (rock lobster), pāua (abalone), tio (Bluff oysters), rāwaru (blue cod), and kōura rangi (scampi).

Ngāi Tahu Seafood continues the deep connection that Ngāi Tahu have had with the sea (moana) since our ancestors first voyaged to Aotearoa New Zealand in waka unua (double hulled canoes) more than 600 years ago.

“For many generations our people sustained a healthy living from land, bush, waterways and sea. They treasured and preserved what this vast area had to offer. Their environmentalism was second to none.” Rangimarie Te Maiharoa, Te Rūnanga o Waihao.

Our profound respect for the marine environment with a focus on sustainability and responsible behaviour, guides our practice in today’s commercial environment.
